Contribution

A conceptual framework proposing that bodily dysregulation may mediate and amplify ecological crisis through interoception, well-being, nature connectedness and compensatory consumption.

The article reframes the Anthropocene as not only a crisis of carbon, capital and technology, but also a crisis of embodied mediation. It proposes the Somatic Anthropocene feedback loop and introduces the Somatic Restitution Index as a preliminary multidimensional framework requiring empirical validation.

Evidence status and boundary

Narrative conceptual synthesis; primarily L1-L4, with speculative notes clearly marked.

The framework is not monocausal, anti-technology or a replacement for political-economic explanations. The proposed Somatic Restitution Index requires empirical validation.

Relationship within the two-part project
